It's been a long time since we got any information about Sims 3. So i decided to take a look at what we have and digg a bit deeper. Looking at those screenshots we were able to get some further details about upcoming part 3 of the best-selling series.

First thing we noticed here is that the textures and lighting are much better than in Sims 2. It looks like you can place many objects on small tables which was already possible but not without using hacks. Also there's some kind of a box on lower table plate. The armchair is rotated at 45 degrees angle, which also required a hack in Sims 2. SnootySims also noticed that the build mode grid is smaller than before. There are some fireplace tools however there's no clue if those are usable or decorational only.
This is a room of a lousy sim, pizza scattered everywhere. However there are some interesting things to note here. One is obviously the ceiling which is also planned in Sims 2 expansion apartment life. Also have a look at the bookcase in this one - it's almost empty. It looks like the books will be much more important in this version, Rod Humble said something about book collecting in one of interviews. Another thing is the lamp on small table - it's not on the center which was the default placement in Sims 2.
Looking at this one can tell us something about the new decoration system. It looks like it will work much like in earlier version - the furniture will have a couple of zones for which we can select a texture. The new thing is that textures will be common for every piece of furniture.
Lot of detail on this one. Looking on it it seems certain that it will be possible to rotate objects by 45 degrees. There are family photos all around so we might be able to make them ingame. Some objects are placed very close to each other so maybe we won't need buy mode grid hack anymore. There's also some interesting furniture around like clock, calendar, toilet paper, bathroom towels and some kitchen tools. Under the bed there are slippers, probably sims will wear them while in pajamas.
